So, some exciting news! I finally managed to get some of my work published One of my Daryl Dixon portraits made it into Norman Reedus' fan art book 'Thanks For All The Niceness'.
"THANKS FOR ALL THE NICENESS is Norman’s way to show his gratitude in a compilation of sometimes hilarious, sometimes sinister, but always fascinating artwork made by his fans.
This is not your average display of fan artwork. Created in every thinkable medium, the Norman/Daryl archetype is captured in tattoo designs, cakes, pencil sketches, mosaics, chalk drawings, digital art, and even children sketches from his youngest fans.
And Norman’s fans aren’t your average fans. With over 3,000 submissions from all over the world—Japan, Spain, Mexico, England, Australia, Italy, Hungary, Brazil, Austria, Indonesia, the US—it was no small feat for Norman to select the 100 pieces that will appear in this beautifully designed book. It’s real art made by real people for real people."
A large portion of the proceeds from sales of this book is being donated to The Bachmann Strauss Dystonia and Parkinson Foundation. Dystonia is a serious neurological movement disorder that causes uncontrollable and, at times, painful spasms in one or more parts of the body. It may be genetic in origin or appear spontaneously, and dozens of diseases and conditions include dystonia as a major symptom. While not widely known, dystonia is the third most common movement disorder. It affects an estimated 500,000 men, women and children in North America. Some forms of dystonia are genetic, but the cause for the majority of cases is not known. There are very limited treatment options and currently there is no known cure, so any money which can go towards helping to find a cure to this horrible disorder is obviously amazing.
